Just to let you all know that Winter training will be held at the Barony in Nantwich at 10.30am on Sundays.
Really good session today. Thanks to Gregg, Matt and Gareth for making up the numbers. We hope to get players across from Wrexham and down from Manchester during the Winter, in order to improve the standard of Touch in the region.

Don’t forget that training will be on the Barony this Wed, rather than at Ruskin. We hope Wrexham will bring some players across for a coaching session but if not we will sort out a mini tournament.
I was thinking of a 4′s tournament with 6 in a team but only 4 players on the pitch at any one time. 10 minute matches.
P.S Good to see so many people at training recently. Been really impresssed by the RL boys and the return of some faces from last Summer. Chu – we’ll arrange indoor training if you come more often

Jules has managed to arrange a session with the rugby lads at Crewe & Nantwich on Thursday night. It would be good to see some familiar faces down there. There is no doubt that they will have some potentially talented players that would make ideal recruits for this Summer!
So if you fancy brushing up on the basics get yourself along to the rugby club on Thursday night at 7pm.
Touch Video
Ignore the dodgy sound track and the filming. The skills are awesome.
Here you are Louis, some moves for you to study and teach us
Can everyone make training from 2.45pm instead of 3pm in the future? We can then do some drills before playing. At the moment we are running around like maniacs so it would be good to get some structure in place and learn a few moves.
Good to see some new faces over the last few weeks. Jules still manages to recruit people in the depths of Winter! On that note, just wanted to say a quick thanks to Jules for all the work that he has put in and the SMS updates – much appreciated by all.

We have decided to only train on Sundays on the Barony from 3pm during the Winter. However if numbers do pick up again we can reconsider switching back to twice a week. See you next Sunday.
P.S Louis – Sorry for not updating the site last week!

There isn’t any training this Wed since the regulars can’t make it. It has been suggested about moving training to Thursday night since I know this suits people a lot better. What do you think?

Who said Touch was a Summer sport?! At last, Winter training will be starting at Coppenhall Leisure Centretomorrow night on the Astro picth at 6.30pm. The directions on the map aren’t great so if you get lost just give me a call. It’s a sand based astro pitch (no more diving for Jules!) so trainers and astro boots are your best option. Look forward to seeing you. If you can drag any new or forgotten faces (Andy C!) along that would be great.
P.S Thought I’d also tempt you back with a Youtube clip that shows some insane touch skills in far warmer climates! I swear this guys pass is CGI.

The Touch rugby gurus AKA the Welsh Touch Association are kindly coming up on the 17th and 18th of October for a Touch Development Weekend. This will be a really great opportunity to learn more about the game and improve your skills.
Saturday 17th @ Ruskin (times TBC) – Coaching day.
This will focus on individual, sub unit and team skills. The day is completely open to anyone from newbies to regulars. Wrexham and the Manchester Chargers will also be joining us so we could possibly pick one or two tricks up from them as well. The WTA are also keen to run a Ref’s course in the afternoon. It’s not too taxing and I think it would be good if everyone attended.
Sunday 18th @ Wrexham (times TBC) – Match Day.
Our chance to get our own back on Wrexham! The MC’s will also be joining us to make it a 3-way tournament. Be prepared to experience 40 minute games on full size pitches with proper referees! That will be a first!
Attendance:Believe it or not the WTA are putting the weekend for FREE! Please can you register your interest below. The more the merrier! It would be good to get 20+ players along from the Crewesaders.

Just wanted to say it was a really good session on Sunday. I think we are starting to get use to the wet weather. In fact I think we’d now struggle in the dry!
Can everyone please try and make training for a 6.30pm start on Wed? It’s getting darker and if we don’t start until 6.45 it gives the midgies a chance to start munching on us!
Ahead of the weekend: Jules is going to run a Half passing drill, I’ll go over some basic defence and Louis will try and drill some moves into us.
Team for Sat:Jules, Sian, Carl, KA, Gareth, Nat, Louis, Bri & Deb. There is space for a few more. Otherwise we will be doing a lot of running!
I’ve just found this clip from the Medway NTS (National Touch Series). It features the Raptors in Grey and Green who are one of the UK’s best touch rugby teams. I thought it would be worth showing you the standard that we wish to emulate. I truly believe that its achievable if we keep on progressing at the same rate. Bri and I will be on a coaching course with most of these guys at the end of the month so hopefully we will pick up a few tips. They came up to Wrexham for a couple of sessions and it made a huge difference to them.
What do you think of their play? Anything you notice that we could work on?
